About

My name is Edwin Lora and I am a Graphic Designer and Police Cadet in New York City. Although I work for law enforcement, I have a passion for design like no other, and work in the NYPD Cadet Program as a Graphic Designer in their GDU unit. From digital illustration to social media branding, I am willing to learn and experience as well as lead to better designs and creations.

I personally enjoy on my downtime creating sketches and drawing. Although it usually does not become a full fledged piece, I attempt to draw images or things I see or think about as I go along my days. Drawing is normally how I create my pieces as well, it is my initial start to my design process wether it is digitally or by pencil. I also enjoy taking inspiration and saving them because ideas tend to spring to me on random occurrences, its like day dreaming without the day dreaming. My sketches tend to be in pen most of the time, usually of characters, people, sites, etc. I also enjoy taking photos of places and things I feel are beautiful to the human eye, such as plants or buildings, the sky and changes in the horizon, even though in photo it is never the same as when its in person. I enjoy knowing I experienced these things personally and use them at times to inspire my work.

I have lived in New York City all my life. Although I have travelled, the city seems to take me by surprise everyday. I have travelled to the virgin islands, Dominican Republic, and states such as Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. When I leave New York, it is for a slight chance to breath, to experience other things other than the massive city. It has helped quite a few times, seeing how different the world works, how people live, and putting myself in their shoes, how they experience things. It opens up new avenues to design.
